Today you'll revisit the seventh invert class and you'll be working on your invert practice for most of the lesson. I'd love to hear how this program went for you. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your pole journey.
Mantra: I can trust my body. Let me elaborate on this one! We can trust our bodies; they naturally know what to do. We don't have to tell our heart to beat, or lungs to inflate and deflate—the body knows. It's our mind that comes in with stories of inability or fear. Let your mind get out of the way so your body can do what it already knows.
Tips: Now that we've been putting everything together—timing, breath, leg placement, and controlled exits—it might feel overwhelming, and that's okay! Please don't worry if you cannot yet invert; this class is not about "getting" your invert. It's about building a better relationship with the invert, your pole, and your body. You may want to do this class a few times, or you can also try my 30-day Invert program. Another option is to simply be comfortable with your level of skill at this time—relax and enjoy the journey!
Question: How are you feeling about your invert practice at this time? Understand I'm not asking if you can invert yet; I'm asking if you are seeing or feeling an improvement in strength, skills, or confidence?
Homework: If you're having mostly negative feelings, do you have any insight as to what's holding you back? You can journal about this, and if you want to share your feelings privately with me or share with everyone in the comments, that's fine too. If you do journal, make sure you take some time to write about the "stories" you told yourself (what your mind is telling you)—remember it may or may not be true. If you're feeling positive overall, take some time to write your feelings of gratitude. Anything you are grateful for, write it down; this might be three things or a whole page of things.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your invert journey!
