Today is a rest day and I thought it would be a good time to share my video on how to make a hula hoop!
Have you ever tried hula hooping? Or maybe you already know how, I'd love to hear about it!
Pro tip: I'm guessing you might have heard it's helpful to cross-train, which is incorporating different styles of exercises that are in the same wheelhouse, but it's not pole dancing. I personally love hula hooping as cross-training and here's why:
Hula hooping also allows for expression of music and whole body movement
When working with smaller hoops on your arms it strengthens the fingers, hands, wrist, and forearms, which also makes it a great choice for warm-ups too
You can hula hoop daily and a gentle, quick warm up will do, if it's needed at all
Working with larger hula hoops improves spinal function, core strength and overall motor skills
It's fairly inexpensive
They're fun to take to festivals and events and easier to travel with than a pole
