Superman dismount - moves list

Hi there, I was wondering if you could help me to figure out (recalling your experience and your practice) all the kind of dismounts from classic Superman. I would like to make a list of them, starting from simpler to more difficult moves/poses/dismounts so that I can practice and learn myself before teaching my students (it will take a lot of time since my girls are mostly Beginner 2 level but I would like to have the perfect technique on all alternatives). Thank you everybody for your precious help! <3

That's an interesting thread ! I'm always in search for a new way of getting out of Superman. The only ones I know are the Aerial Shoulder Mount and the superman fall (superman into tuck or scorpio).

I found out an easier way to come out of the move. Let's see if it's correct and acceptable. easier: - go back to hook and V out harder: - aerial shoulder mount - superman fall (superman into tuck or scorpio)

Not necessarily dismounts but here are some other things I do following a Superman: Hip Hold Scorpio Dove Bees Knees Aerial Shoulder Mount Hood Ornament Figurehead

@RikkiL With that combo you could go from Ex Butt to Flatline Scorpio and back to Superman!

Has anyone already mentioned coming down into shooting star (Felix calls it a star fish)...? I want to try out some of these suggestions since it has always been kinda awkward for me to come out of a superman. 😀

If anyone is inspired to post a video of ways to get out of Superman, I would definitely watch and learn : ) Right now, I can only share how to get STUCK on the pole after getting into Superman.

Videos would be nice. I have tried the fall over and over again. I even had a workshop where Karol herself spotted me and showed me. I have a mental block about it. I just kinda slide out. Lol!!!

Yes! I love the look of the fall over and over way of getting out. Right now, I am working on loosening the thigh grip so my legs can gently slide down the pole. Right now, I slide a bit then get stuck....slidea bit more and get stuck. It's the choppy way of sliding down : )

With superman, I think you can get out of it in any way you get it. I.e - you can enter superman from "side V" (look at Veena's lessons for names), and you can go back there by reversing the move. You go into position from pike hip hold by holding the pole above you and pushing yourself into position, and you can go back there as well. Thinking about it like that really simplified the superman for me. By the way - if you look closely at the superman drop, for example, you will see that it is just superman returned to pike hip hold and then switched into scorpio really fast. If you think about it like that, it is (a) not as scary to do, and (b) allows you to "drop" into whatever position you can go to from the pike, which is more versatile than being locked into the scorpio variation. Two superman variations that require back flexibility - 1. hold both hands on the pole above your head and bend your legs up as much as possible (my teacher can almost reach the pole with them as well). You will look pretty and spin faster. 2. Bring your upper arm (the one that is holding the pole) down and move in to the same side of the pole as your other arm, so that the pole is on the front of the shoulder. Extend your arms. You are so pretty!! There are probably cool things you can do from there since your hands are free (holding your leg?), but I'm not flexible enough for this move so I never tried... I can try to make a video of these ideas, if you want...

Amy I watched the video but I was expecting a cradle as in a cradle position for cradle spin, or a cradle v. Is that what you did and I just missed it completely..? Or are you calling it a cradle and maybe it has another name..? I'm glad this discussion is still going. And thanks unmystifing the superman drop! I look forward to trying that :D
