wow that's awesome
That is really amazing, although when I read the title I thought it might be something else. Ever since I saw performers start doing the "back aysha"- an elbow grip behind your back either in a middle split or a back bend- I've been waiting for someone to figure out how to do a backwards handspring up into it. Has anyone seen that yet? For reference, Jamilla Deville does the "back aysha" at about 1:30 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXXw8JFEzbA
Amazing! I MUST try this!
So cool, must try. Thanks for the link.
I love this move, I first saw Viktoria Sarnavskaya use this in her sumission video, when judging for IPC. Once I get back to dancing I'd love to it!!
Oooh that's crazy awesome! I'm busy trying to think if I know anyone who I can make try it:)
I might have to attempt this too! Update if anyone has any success! Such a cool move!
I saw that trick yesterday after practice on a diferent video and almost got back to the pole to try it! i'll try today for sure, its beautiful! @elektra: thats a cool idea.... ;)
I just tried that trick for the first time a few days ago - it´s a lot of fun ;)
Got a video of it emotioncatcher? would love to see that move a bit clearer-looks mega hard. Do you think it might be easier to do backwards than forwards like the chopper is?
I don´t have one, but I can make one :) I have only practiced it once, so it might not look perfect. I first practiced it in two steps: I lifted my legs and hooked them, then I let my lower hand slide down and release the legs. It´s important to slide down with the lower hand to get that trick (at least for me ^^) I think the reverse variation would be hard, because the hand would have to slide upwards and the motion is totally different. Your legs will kind of float above your head once you got the technic right :D
Mine is pretty bad, but a few things that helped: - For some reason trying it from a climb is easier than trying it from the floor - It's easier for me to have the bottom hand in a pinky-to-the-floor grip rather than index-to-the-floor for some reason, try both grips if you're stuck - To get your body in a position where you can actually move your legs, make sure you reach over your head sideways (like you're going into a cartwheel) with your bottom hand rather than in front of your chest My biggest problem is sliding that bottom hand down too, half the time I tried it I ended up in an aysha with my lower hand under my chin haha :\
the reason why you can´t get it from the floor is very simple: the hands slides further down than your foot is at the bginning ;)
