A little about myself-I am a self taught seamstress and have recently created a stroller blanket that is patent pending. I am also taking classes online to finish my liberal arts degree. I bookkeep part time for my family's catering company while staying home to raise my four children aged 9, 7, 5 and 2! I have worked out on and off for most of my life, with weights for many years, then transitioned to Bikram for about a year and then stopped working out altogether for a few years. In between I dabbled in running and ran a few races. I love to challenge myself and try new things as I get bored! Recently, a girlfriend spoke to me about pole fitness. I decided to try a class in the city at Body and Pole and immediately loved it. I purchased a static/spin pole soon after. What I love about pole fitness is the grace, strength, flexibility, creativity, and the ability to put my own "spin" on the movements. I was lucky enough to go to the Bell House and watch the 2013 Polesque Competition-I walked out of there in awe, filled with motivation and inspiration. If you have the opportunity, youtube Alfie Sosa, and watch his performance. By far he was my favorite and he was the first man ever to win the competition. I have yet to completely "come out" about my love of pole fitness, however, all my kids go on my pole and invariably tell everyone about it-so I have had to quickly explain it all-much to my dismay!
