Hey, ya'll! I'm studying Anthropology at Oregon State University, I take online classes so I can watch my daughter at home (you can see her in my profile picture, napping on my lap while I'm having a nice dinner with family ;)). My initial reason for joining the community was to conduct research for my final project in my Ethnographic Methods class, which is on Online Pole Dancing Communities! It's my intention to participate in a few of the monthly challenges (mainly July 2013, August 2013, and September 2013 provided I'm not too busy putting the finishing touches on the project). I intend to conduct interviews, surveys, and participate in the forums! I really feel that the pole-dance community is misunderstood, and under publicized (though that is rapidly changing). I look forward to educating my classmates (and maybe my professor!) on the unique qualities of the online pole dance community of StudioVeena!
