Mantra: I can release the stories of my mind to free my body
Tips: In pole dance or anytime you exert yourself, you want to exhale; don't hold your breath. It's also helpful to inhale through the nose and exhale with an audible hhhhhhh or shhh as you lift your body or exert force with your body. Along with an exhale, contracting the muscles of the vagina and focusing on lifting or pulling up as you exhale will provide more power and help reduce the risk of prolapse among other things. Relax back to normal when you inhale.
Question: Do you find you often hold your breath when learning a new skill?
Homework: How did focusing on your breath feel? Good, stressful, dizzying? Did any fearful thoughts or "stories" pop up when you wanted to relax? If so, write down what they are to gain some insight. You don't need to overanalyze or try to fix anything, just get the thoughts out on paper.

great class - loved your incorporation of breath work!
Thank you ??
learned something thing about pulling the vagina up when exhaling. the breath work practice was great. Thank you.
Yay ??
I enjoyed the reminder about breath, I'm not sure if I regularly hold it or not. I'll have to be more conscious in future...I am aware of the importance of breath from yoga but I probably need to start taking it more seriously moving forward.
???
i know you didn't ask for our favorite part of this class but I am going to tell you anyways!..... The real talk was so refreshing and nice to see someone not afraid to explain things!
I appreciate that! I wasn’t sure if it would turn people away but it’s so important! My older sister had a prolapse and I don’t want anyone to go through that!
Hey Veena ? It felt really good to focus on breath , the yrs I've been doing pole well going to classes I never got told to suckup my vagina this is all new to me an to be honest I felt better for doing it , if that makes sense xx And yes I have been known for holding my breath when learning something new all the time xx An no I had no fearful stories pop up as was concentrating on breath which helped alot xx?? Thank you soo much if I could hug you I would ? so I'll send a hug emoji instead ?
I'm so glad! Learning how to contract the muscles of the vagina is very important, especially if you've had kids, are over 40, it can help prevent prolapse. It also helps us drive our power up instead of out. HUGS
