I have ordered it as I too am interested in getting to do the splits aslo. It had a lot of stars for the ratings from amazon customers. we'll see
It sounds really interesting. Let me know how it works for you.
Has anybody saw it? worth the money?
I saw it. I bought it and already did it once. I am definatly going to give it a shot. She has a web site explaining about the DVD. It is worth the extra bits included if you have any joint pain/stiffness in more parts than just your legs. There is time spent on shoulders and other parts. Her splits are like WOW. It does use ankle weights and a wall.

what's this!?!?!? splits!?!? flexibility!?!?!??!? i need this dvd!!!!!!!!!! does it work!?!?!
I ordered it and did it for the first time today - I didn't get all the way through, but so far I'm impressed. I have to say she's got some wicked camel toe : 😕 but she is SO adorable and easy to listen to, and I think she really knows what she's talking about. Maybe it's because I haven't made it all the way through the workout yet (I may be missing her genius) but so far my only critique is that she dosen't hold the stretches for longer, there are many I've never done before and they feel sooooooooo good, I want to stay in them for much longer than she prompts you to. I'm buying some ankle weights tomorrow! 🥂 🌸 To Jenn for posting this!
Just bought this DVD from Amazon...........Thanks for the link!!!!!!!! I have to wait ages for shipping though as i Live in the UK 😢
FYI you can also go onto her website and download a digital copy of the DVD for $9.95 USD....I just downloaded it to my PDA! 😂
woohoo!! Great idea, instant access. Just a thought: Does anyone have a large size spa or jacuzzi?? If you do, use it in your stretching routine. A pole teacher once said that she never was able to get the full splits but she was always close for so long. But during a holiday she was in a hot jacuzzi and decided to do some stretches and found that she managed the splits! The hot water probably helped with softening and relaxing her joints and tendons. I only have a normal sized bath but i'll see if soaking in it before stretching will help. Or I might stretch in the bath....
Hi everyone. I downloaded this dvd yesterday then transfered it into a blank dvd. I really like her bubbly personality as she doesn't bore me like the more expensive ELASTIC STEEL FLEXIBILITY DVD (no personality there). I have done it twice and already notice a small difference in my range of motion. But I have a long way. (about a foot and a half from front splits). Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get into the split if stretching exercises are done 3 times a week for 20-30 min. I would be happy if I can even be close just to the floor as it would make my chopper and other move look better. Thanks, Joni 😛

I was wathching this topic, because, although I was excited by the excellent reviews on amazon.com, I wanted to see if people here recommended this video. But then I thought why wait? Instead of waiting to see if others gave good reviews, I could order it and be the one reviewing it. I ordered the video and since I live in canada, the shipping will be between Sept. 03 and 16. I'll update once I have tried it, and again on my progress once I've worked with it a while
I ordered this dvd and it just came YAY...I am sick as a dog right now but hopefully I will be better this weekend and can check it out. I used to be SOOOO flexible when I was younger and did gymnastics now - it's like I used it all up I am so tightly wound up it is sad 🙁
That's so true! She does have wicked camel toe! 😂 I have had this DVD a couple of weeks and have done it a few times. I agree with you Lily; she doesn't hold some of the stretches for very long so i've been pausing the DVD and doing them for a bit longer so i get a good stretch out of it. It is good though, some of them are really strong stretches and you can feel yourself opening up the longer you hold them. Don't know if i'll ever get into the splits but I definately feel a bit more flexible afterwards and it feels good to have a proper stretch!
So I have been doing this dvd everyday for about a week now. I am so super inflexible. When I started a week ago. I measured my side splits against the wall at 19 inches. After a week, I'm now at 17 inches. 2 inches lower .Yeah progress:bounce: Also, when stretching to touch my toes from a sitting position with front legs straight,I could only reach my toes with my fingers. But after a week ,I can grab my whole foot. Yeah, more progress 🤸 I still have a long way to go into getting into a split but Its nice to see some results.
heat def helps stretching! that's what bikram yoga is all about..and man is it hot in there! i just bought this dvd and i'm super excited to try it, but i never knew people were so hardcore about stretching like 30-40 min a day! i think i would get bored even tho i know it's good for me =/. anyhow i will let you girls know what i think about it!
Holy WOW! I downloaded it last night and I give it 5 Stars! I have a pretty impressive repertoire of stretches from my kinesiology class, but she does some I've never seen before and man are they good!! The only thing is... now I feel so discouraged haha! I thought I was fairly flexible but now I can see how far away I am! Oh the PAIN! 😁
I bought this DVD and a set of ankle weights and I'm pretty impressed with my results so far. This DVD is her showing you how to do these stretches in great detail, but you can NOT go at her pace and expect any improvements. YOU HAVE TO PAUSE THE DVD ON EVERY MOVE TO GET A GOOD STRETCH. The exercises she does with the ankle weights are quite a workout and it defiantly helps improve flexibility. FYI: I also bought one of her other DVDs, Stretching For The Least Flexible People On Earth to help my hubby with tight hip flexors and knee pain. I wouldn't recommend that DVD to anyone for the price. It was produced in a shabby office space and didn't provide information or techniques as good as Secrets of Stretch and Flexibility. She is very encouraging though. Hope this helped.

I bought it but didn't get very far. what has helped the most is Jim Whartons flexibility book. You hold the stretches for just a few seconds. It's a very informative book. I also have my pole instructor stretch me and I am about 4 inches off the ground, my pictures are posted. I started about a foot off the floor. The stretch that I really think is helping me is I lay on my back leave one leg straight and have someone push my other leg as far back as possible. but gently. almost like splits on your back. then after doing that I get up and try the splits and hold for about 15-20 seconds and contracting and releasing while in the splits. and I inhale, on exhale go down a little further. but don't do anything past a few seconds because the muscles panic according to the book and will stop you so progress will be halted. After I am down in my splits I will go back to staceys video. I don't explain well but that is what heped me.
I bought this DVD and it has some good stretches in it, but overall I'm not that excited about it. Most of the stretches are ones that I already work on, so I didn't find any real "secrets". However, I DID finally find a method that got me into full splits fast (WOO-HOO!!!) even with a pulled hamstring that has been giving me fits for 4 months. Someone else on the forum (I can't remember who) posted this awhile back and it WORKS, and it's fast. I am soooo excited about it that I'm going to give a class at the studio to show everyone how to do it. It's very simple, but not easy, lol! The article is here: http://www.unique-bodyweight-exercises.com/splits.html The main way that it works is that you hold each stretch for a VERY long time, forcing the muscles to fatigue until they give out. I think most of us are used to holding a stretch for what feels like a long time, but isn't really long enough to get the job done. In this method you stay there for a few minutes (feels like forever!) and it's not easy! You can start to feel it happen after that. It only took 2 sessions for me to see a real difference. I've done it 6 or 7 times now and the difference is amazing. My routine takes about 15 minutes and does not hurt my pulled hamstring. If anyone is interested, I'll be glad to post more details. I LOVE this method, and am so grateful to the poler who originally posted it here, and who is now probably a contortionist, lol!
seriously yall.. i just found this thread, but ive been using this dvd for a couple months now. The progress in my splits has been crazy!! She does go through the stretches pretty fast, so youll need to pause it and do the stretches, then move on to the next. And for some reason she has the warmups at the END, after the stretching, which makes no sense to me. Anyhow, great dvd, great stretches when worked in with my other stretches, and lots of progress..!! thanks to Angel..!! 😉 xoxox

Yes ratty, please post more details, i am interested in any info/method that will get me in my splits sooner. I have been doing stacey nemour's dvd for 7 months now. Went from 19 inches to 6 inches to the ground in my front splits. But it feels like i have been trying forever. I really want my splits.
Hi Joni, The article goes into lots of detail about the technique itself. I don't do all the stuff he talks about because like you, I was pretty close to splits already but couldn't get all the way there. I am trying to do this every single day, and it takes about 15-20 minutes, plus whatever time it takes to warm up first. Here's my sequence: 1. Forward bend--just relax into it, keep relaxing and keep holding for about 2 minutes, or until your hands go flat on the floor. I got almost immediate results with this one. 2. Lunge--back leg is straight out behind me with toes on the floor so knee is off the floor. This is great for the hard-to-stretch muscles at the tops of thigh and front of hips. I start out with hands on the floor, and then gradually start to take the weight off of them a little, so more weight is going into my hips. I hold this for several minutes on each side. I don't feel huge changes while I'm doing it, but I can tell it helps with my back leg when I go into splits. 3. Side Lunge--hands on the floor on either side of my front foot--this gives a great side stretch as well as the leg stretch. This one is reeeeeaaaaallly hard to hold for a long time, but I keep sinking lower until I can't stand it anymore. It's probably only a minute or so. Feels like infinity. 3. Front splits--back knee facing down, hands on the floor, I go as deep as I can, then wait it out while consciously relaxing the muscles. Push down a little more, then relax and wait. And again, and again, and again...lol...I spend a few minutes on each side or until I can't take it anymore. By then I'm way further than where I started every time! I do it on both sides and sometimes repeat it. 4. Straddle splits--I hold on to the pole and slide down as far as I can (this was my least flexible area) and wait, letting my body weight slowly push me down. It's a great upper body workout, too, since you're supporting yourself with your arms, lol! My arms were actually sore the next day! If you wait long enough you'll really get deep in this one--it's amazing after you do it a few times. I can almost get flat and I've never been even close to that, EVER!! 5. Front splits--after doing the straddle split I do these again, and this is when I can get all the way down. The straddle definitely helps with the second round. 6. Straddle split--If I have it in me, I do another straddle. By this time I'm usually shaking and worn out. So for all of these, I am relying mainly on waiting out the muscle tension until it gives out and I can go further. It takes a long time and is very uncomfortable (that's an understatement). Sometimes I will go as deep as I can, wait, then contract all the muscles hard for a few seconds, then relax and wait again. But usually I just relax and wait. 7. Leg raises--I don't do these every time. Lying on your back, pulling your leg towards your head. For some reason, I don't really feel the stretch with this one. Maybe because I don't have the benefit of my body weight pushing on the leg. For this one I use the muscle contractions. I stretch the leg in as much as I can and hold it, then contract HARD, relax and wait, and then repeat it all a few times. I don't use all the visualizations like he recommends--I just stretch, breathe, and focus. And wait. And wait. And wait.... I could tell the difference almost immediately with these stretches. I am very tightly strung together, so I have to work hard for every little bit of flexibility I get. I really have to work on hip openers (I use some good ones from yoga, just not often enough). I'm going to try this technique with those stretches, and try to find a way to use it in backbends. I just love it and have been so excited to see real results, finally! I've also experienced less soreness and discomfort after these than with the way I used to stretch. It makes sense, since this really lets your muscles relax and lengthen. Sometimes I can't spend as long as I want to doing them, but even if I can do 10 minutes I still feel the progress. Let me know if you need any more info, and I'm anxious to hear what you think once you've tried it!!
Thanks Ratty for the additional info. I got great results from staceys dvd initially but is stuck at 6 inches for the last few months. Wow, Your stretch routine is only 15 min? That's amazing to get results with only 15 min of stretching each time. It takes me 1 hour of stacys to get thru the whole routine. I am so gonna try this 6 weeks method. Thanks again so much.
I can do it in 15 minutes but I try to give myself longer since I really need it. I'm trying hard to do it every day so if some days are "short" it's okay, as I'll do longer on other days. I'm feeling super-tight today so I may take half an hour and really try to work it out. This method is helping soooo much, and is free! Stacy's video has some great stretches, but somehow it wasn't getting me there. I think the key for me was just working the splits and doing it for much longer at a time.
i actually found the 6 week guide as well...i'm starting my 2nd week today and i can already tell a difference in my splits. I'm super stoked about it! I follow his intructions more closely however...i don't do the visualizations either...or the cooldown. (Does the cooldown really help??) But seriously warming up helps so much (another reason why girl's have mentioned hottub stretching). I really wish i would have measured before i started but i was so excited that i didn't... i need to go home tonight and measure where i am after a week of doing it. i have a pic from a few months ago when i quit my splits stretches (b4 six week guide)...so maybe i'll post that and a pic of where i am now.. =) p.s. about the leg raise stretch, i can't seem to keep my leg straight long enough for it to help me...i shake alot in that one and since there is no force against my leg, its harder to keep it there. I'm still going to do them though and see if it gets better
