Sewing Pole Aerial Swim

Hello, I’m want to start sewing pole and swim outfits for my personal use. Once I get better I would like to sell my unique designs online since I do like sewing.

I have been recommended to buy the Brother 1034D Serger though I don’t know what sewing machine to pair it with.

I do have a cheap Singer sewing machine that I use for simple decoration projects and apparel adjustments. The machine cost me around $100 about 8 years ago and it has been used quite a lot by family members and myself.

I’m looking for a better sewing machine compared to the singer I bought forever ago with all the stitches necessary for these women outfits.

Any tips, suggestions, and recommendations appreciated!

I dabble a little with sewing but I don’t know anything about the machines. I just use what my mom gave me. It’s old but does the job. My mom always used a serger when doing dance like clothing back in the day.

I also have a basic+ Brother sewing machine. Fancy stitches options on the machine itself aren't necessary, in my opinion. The only real thing that matters is practicing the skill of working with elastics and elastic fabric, like Spandex and Lycra. Use sharp needles, always. Oil that machine often and keep the fuzzies out of the moving parts. A serger or overlock machine is certainly useful, but the downside is exposed hems and seams. If you want to specialize in this type of apparel, the best way to stand out is to fully finish all your seams and hems, which basically means folding over the fabric to cover them and create smooth lines everywhere. Most clothing these days is only serged and offering properly finished designs will set you in a league above the rest. It takes more time to make each piece, which is why it is not common in mass-produced items. Don't try to compete with the mass-produced companies, an individual producer can't handle their profit margins. Aim for quality and people will choose your products when they want a sturdy and beautiful pole set. I believe in you!
