SO I think I may have invented a new trick. Has anyone seen this before? I call it Flying Goddess https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=516995511675951&set=a.475144532527716.102944.455266671182169&type=1&theater¬if_t=like

isnt it the steel panther
another version of the allegra? eighter way it looks cool!
Thank you :) I thought so too!
Allegra is with the pole to your back. Very similar to this but she is more vertical: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8429/7875123192_c8a32bdb1b.jpg
Sorry...horizontal. It just looks like a variation of an elbow grip pole split.
Whatever it is, it's freaking awesome :)
Thank you :) I may post a tutorial if I have time this weekend! Its easy to get into but you need alot of strength to hold it
Nice trick :) Kyrsten has done a very similar one but she not wrapping the arm around the leg...i thinl that s the only diffrence https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/5084a7aa-ca84-4dca-9459-1b280ac37250
Yea similar lines but there are a few small differences. I also found out there is already a trick called the Flying Goddess so I will just name this one after myslef - its the Romangoddess lol
I've seen it and done it (it's on spinny here around 4:42) https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/4f74ca49-9280-4f51-85a0-15280ac37250 However, I have no idea what it was named so let's call it romangoddess from now and on! BTW, the move Kyrsten did on the pic is according to what I've heard called "13:35".
Phoenix Kazree did almost the same thing at pole art but with the bottom leg still on the pole. I forgot what she called it, elbow hook split I think??
I do this...one of my friends showed it to me after she saw it in a video. Can't remember whose video it was, but if I remember, I'll ask her.
ooh hey! i did that once! :D https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/50957cc5-1554-443a-a5c4-3d9e0ac37250 around 2:56

This looks like a variation on a move Natasha Wang taught me - she goes from an outside knee hang, then puts the bottom leg's calf on the pole, then hooks the elbow. It is very similar, except the bottom leg is contacting the pole on the back of the calf! =)
I have done this one also but could not get a name for the exact trick: https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/50455c61-ce68-4b52-8429-05df0ac37250 I haven't tried it again since then. Hmm. I gave it up once I got the so-called "13:35" (always wondered what that was called!!) as they are visually similar :) that horizontal split chem Posted is super awesome too, wow!
I first did this trick in November 2011. This one (with a front split), and the middle split version that version that speaks of. I've been teaching it in workshops for about a year. It was given the name Phoenix Star by one of my online clients in Austrslia.
I get into it an this October, 2012 performance at about 3:40. http://youtu.be/zxCGs7lAkMI
I found a photo. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=479478875426077&set=t.100000344128995&type=3&theater And the middle split version, front and back. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=416863195039253&set=t.100000344128995&type=3&theater ; https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=416864761705763&set=t.100000344128995&type=3&theater
I've seen Natasha Wang do it before too... and many photos on instagram unfortunately. Not sure of the name though?
It's a very cool trick! sadly not new like many already pointed out. :/ I've been taught a trick called the flying goddess while back, it's a bit different... here's the pic: https://www.facebook.com/susana.imaginario/photos_stream#!/photo.php?fbid=505182039510462&set=pb.100000560124990.-2207520000.1363601866&type=3&theater ; it's not very common, wonder if it is know by any other names.
Legend: I can't access your link. Maybe the content is available only to your FB-friends?
