Do I have to use grip forever? Is there a way to buy it at a more affordable price in bulk? I prefer dry hands over mighty grip, but would take any deal I could get. Thanks :)

According to Veena's guide for when its appropriate to begin learning spins, I am still years away from achieving that baseline standard. I have a terrible time with sweaty hands, but since I'm really not "allowed" to advance to more complicated moves, I've resisted the urge to purchase any grip aids. I have always wondered as well, once I can start the kind of pole work that is benefited by grip aid, if I'll need to use it forever. I guess only time, or advice from experienced polers, will tell. :-) I'm not sure if any of this will be helpful to you, but I thought I'd share anyway. Happy Poling!!

Other grip options for sweaty hands include tite grip and dirty girl poletice. I like tite grip and find it lasts longer than dry hands. I just received my order of DGP and will be trying it tomorrow but have heard good things from other sweaty polers. I was worried too about becoming reliant on grip aids but when your hands are too sweaty to do even a basic spin the choice eventually becomes use them or don't pole. Giving up pole was not an option for me so grip aids it is.
How did the tite grip go for you dustbunny?
Tite grip is pretty good but I like dgp even better now!
God tell me about it. I've been poling for 6 months and have gone through like 10 bottles of dry hands which is over $200! I try to buy in bulk like 6 bottles at a time but I guess it's just a price you have to pay... Still cheaper than smoking I guess!
Hi, I had to constantly apply grip aids also, but I was able to find some great deals on eBay. I like to first put mighty grip on, then wait about 5 minutes and add some dry hands. I put this on my hands, thighs, near the back of my arms near arm pits, basically anywhere that is going to come in contact with the pole. It has really worked well and lasted longer if I use a combo of both. After awhile, instead of adding more grip aid, I will wash my hands with cool water and dry them, then they get "tacky" all over again. The grip lasts for hours like this. Sounds weird, but it works. Also, I love buying grip & other products from PoleAmor. The have a regular website/store and an eBay store. They sometimes have buy one get one free deal on grip. Like if you buy a bigger bottle, a smaller one will come with it for free. The owners are really cool and great to do business with. Hope this helps save you some money. Take care &good luck! :)

Cleo the Hurricane has an interesting concoction she calls Sticky Bitch. If you go to her tutorial video site she does talk about it. My personal go-to is a mix of shaving cream, Tite Grip, & hair spray. Sounds delicious I know lol
The question is why do you use grip aid? For sweaty hands or just because the pole feels slick?
Oh my LORD! Anyone looking to STICK I have a product for you! I don't know how long this stuff has been out, probably a while, but I just found it because it was being sold on Ariel and Pole's website. Its called Firm Grip. Actually there are 2 types Firm Grip and Tuf-Skin. I don't know what the difference between the 2 are, but I bought Firm Grip. It was selling out quick, so if you can't get it on that website you can get it from Amazon or possibly at your local sporting good store because originally it was for golf and baseball players. Oh my goodness! It comes in an aerosol spray and a pump spray I believe. I bought the aerosol. So you spray on your palms and fingers to create grip. Here is the Lesson. In my mind I thought, "It's a spray, so let me add a good amount". So I spray it on nice and generous. DON'T DO THAT! I waved my hands around to dry it and instantly I felt the stickiness. I looked at my husband and said "Wooo, this is really sticky. I tapped his fore arm and he was like "DAMN"! So I was happy; I needed grip because I'm working on my twisted grip handspring and true grip handspring and my pole is chrome, so I've always been scared to try it for fear that I would slide down even using dry hands or iTac. So I gave it a go after seeing a tutorial by Julia Wahl and FoxxyAuthority and I don't have the ab strength to hold it for long, but I got a little air time. I was content and then I tried to let go of the pole. Yeah it took some careful effort because I really sprayed my hands good. My husband saw my face as I was pulling my hands away and he asked if I was ok? I was fine, but I was surprised how much my hands stuck. lol I told my husband that I didn't have the ab strength to really lift and hold I was depending more on swinging my leg back into the lift then using my abs to lift. So my husband had me lay my back down on our dinner room chair and he stood behind me and told me to clasp my hands tight around his back and then lift my legs up level to my hips and hold it. Man it was hard, but I saw what he was doing. So I did 3 to get the idea and I discovered that my hands and fingers were stuck together! ROFLMBO! My husband had to pry my fingers apart. So yes I ran and washed my hands TWICE with soap and there was still some on my hands, so I sprayed my hands down with rubbing alcohol and it cut a little more of the tack, but now its completely off my hands. I learned a good lesson. This stuff works, but PLEASE don't go over board like I did! Since I decided to do so, the skin on my hands is a little tender, but not too bad. I hope the pictures come out on it ok
Oh I see the difference Firm Grip is for your hands and tuff skin is for if you are banding your wrist, ankles or what ever and need extra stick to insure they stay on.
I have used Tuf Skin on my body before. You're not going *anywhere* if you use it lol. When I first got it, I sprayed some on my socks out of curiosity--and I could climb as easily as I can bare-legged. If you're going to use it on clothing for inverted moves I'd make sure to spray skin first, or your clothes could end up sticking while you slide out of them. Not what you want!
Lol, I'm imagining it now! You slide right out and you look up and your clothes are still there on the pole! lol too funny!
Just bought some Cramer's firm grip to try too! I'm always looking for more options. :)
